AMI opens the Advanced Solutions Lab at Monterrey Headquarters

AMI new Advanced Solutions Lab was officially opened last August 22, Monterrey, Mexico. Hideki Shibata, SDK Chief Digital Officer was the special guest for this opening.

The objective with these facilities is to develop innovative solutions for the digitalization of the steelmaking industry with the use of cutting-edge technology such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Image Processing and state-of-the-art instruments. This laboratory will allow our Expert Team to continue developing new EAF process optimization solutions complementing our existing IoModules products: IoTrodeTM, IoTapTM, IoBucketTM and IoConveyorTM.

The IoModules can monitor and control specific aspects of the process. They are based on our SmartKnB graphic development platform allowing a straightforward customization of the operation in a completely open architecture and user-friendly environment.

In the words of Carlos de los Santos, Meltshops Solutions Director “This Advanced Solutions Lab is a step ahead for AMI not only to continue the development of our latest products, but to give our world-class specialists the tools to quickly identify, test and adopt the technologies of the future, even those that are yet to come to the market, and which will be part of our cutting-edge products in the years to come. This laboratory, and the people working in these facilities strengthen the AMI position as the leader for technology in the steelmaking industry”.

Hideki Shibata, SDK Chief Digital Officer said: “The Advanced Solutions Lab is expected to contribute to the further development of SDK. SDK will be able to provide added value solutions to optimize customer’s operation such as efficiency and safety and maximize Graphite Electrode performance”.

We look forward to improving companies’ process optimization from our Advanced Solutions Lab.
