AMI Automation Enhances EAF 4 Performance at ArcelorMittal Lázaro Cárdenas

AMI Automation has successfully completed a major modernization of the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) 4 at ArcelorMittal’s Lázaro Cárdenas plant, integrating cutting-edge technology to enhance automation, precision, and reliability.

This project was a collaborative effort between AMI and ArcelorMittal, built on a long-standing partnership and the commitment of both teams to continuous improvement. The upgrade included the integration of ArcelorMittal’s automation system with AMI’s PX3 Arc Regulator, optimizing control logic, real-time monitoring, and system communications.

With the new system in place, EAF 4 is now delivering greater production efficiency, faster response times to operational needs, and enhanced reliability. The close cooperation between AMI and ArcelorMittal’s dedicated teams ensured a seamless transition, reinforcing their shared commitment to technological advancement.

While EAF 4 is operating at full capacity, the next phase will focus on installing a new set of hydraulic valves to further enhance performance. This successful project underscores AMI’s expertise in EAF automation and highlights the power of collaboration in driving innovation within ArcelorMittal’s operations.
