EAF Process. A review of operational best practices from scrap charging, burner operation, lancing, slag foaming, sampling. Typical issues, their source and possible solutions.
AI Applications for EAF Process Control. AI tools for improving EAF operation efficiency, cost reduction and minimized environmental impact. Real-time data analysis for complex decision making of process control.
Advanced Compensation Equipment. Role of SVC’s as compensation equipment to improve power factor, and mitigate the disturbances caused by EAF operations.
EAF Grounding. Grounding purposes, considerations for AC and DC systems, relevant measurements, common issues, and corrective actions.
Furnace Transformer. Key components. Understanding gas analyses reports and identifying potential problems.

Managing Director of tripleS GmbH & Co. KG. With extensive experience in process technology, metallurgy, and technical sales in the steel industry, he has held key roles at Fuchs Systemtechnik, Siemens VAI, among others. With specialization in EAF, LF, VD/VOD, and RH processes, has led over 40 start-ups and studies. Since 2015 he is a partner of AMI, promoting its technology in the EMEA region.
Bernardo Sainz
Bernardo Sainz is the CEO of AMI Automation, with a background in Electrical Engineering. With 31 years at AMI Automation, he is also in charge of the Industrial Solutions Business Unit. His fields of expertise include automation systems, high-power electronics, and operation efficiency in a wide variety of industries, including steelmaking.
Emmanuel Placier
With several years of experience in the global steel industry, specializing in Electrode Regulation and EAF Optimization systems, Emmanuel has a background in electrical and automation engineering. He is currently part of the AMI Automation team based in Europe, contributing to business development and sales and supporting technical services for EAF Optimization.
