SmartFurnace™ MODULES

OFF-GAS MODULE

With the ZOLO Scan Laser Off Gas Analyzer for CO, CO2, H2O and Gas temperature measurement, post-combustion control and optimization together with the Oxygen Module is possible. The proven abnormal water vapor detection provides valuable information for process safety. Being a non extractive system, and with fast response of under 2 seconds makes it the most reliable technology for off gas measurement.

SmartARC™ MODULE

Decides the best operating points based on the heat stage, slag level, arc stability and scrap mix for Current and Voltage references, Variable Arc Length Setpoint, and Regulation mode choice.

OXYGEN MODULE

Through the De-Carburization, Carbon Injection, and Burner/Lance sub-modules, the Oxygen Module controls the rates of Gas, Oxygen and Carbon considering the conditions of the heat and the composition of the bath. The Modules’ capabilities can be enhanced with the Off-Gas module when available, further optimizing the Carbon and Oxygen usage.

Detection of abnormal levels of water in the EAF for safety purposes.

DRI/HBI MODULE

This Module controls the rate of DRI, HBI or Scrap in continuous feeding systems to maintain an optimum temperature profile, based on the actual heat conditions.

SLAG MODULE

This Module implements an online mass balance to model the slag composition and recommend fluxes to achieve the target basicity and MgO Saturation.
